Capturing Beauty

I'm so that person on the street with her camera photo-stalking unassuming new yorkers during their commutes to and fro. It's not that I'm trying to infringe on your privacy or catch you in a moment of weakness (also known as 'making a weird face'), it's that something about people's faces, the bone structure, the look, the bits of their personality that come through when they don't think anyone is watching.... this is utterly fascinating and beautiful to me. truly beautiful.

man, this is sounding creepy. but for real - i just think people are most photograph-able when they aren't posing, and i so desperately want to capture the look in their eyes.

okay - so i'm still getting over my fear of photographing people. its a battle. i have visions of people realizing their being photographed and running after me, attacking me with a handbag or umbrella or venti latte, whatever is available to them, as i go running (screaming) to get away from my attacker. the attacker who is now suddenly not so beautiful. anyway, that's just a little phobia i have. like i said... working on it!
