Roadtrip: Day 1

Hello family/friends/fans/followers! Here's the first 'check-in' from the road. Serena and I had a fantastic time on our first day of travel. We left MD in the middle of a gorgeous sunrise and it was mostly smooth sailing from there. We hit PA after a few hours and had absolutely no idea how hilly that state is. We were so high in mountains at some point we were driving through misty cloud cover. So crazy. We had our first lunch stop in PA where we did some necessary stretching and eating before getting back onto the road. Then before we knew it, we hit Ohio. I drove the whole state and it was boring. Corn fields, flat lands, lots and lots of huge trucks (that scared me every time they drove by) and farms every few hundred feet. I wish there was anything exciting to say about Ohio, but alas...

We took our next rest break in Indiana, where we also switched drivers (this was the point I took my first deep breath in 4 hours... no more large trucks for the day!). First thing we noticed at the stop in IN - smelly! I didn't put together that farms meant it would smell so strongly of manure. Lovely! After the stop, the rest of IN was actually really beautiful - blue skies and big fluffy clouds (you'll see in the pictures). We finally got to our hotel around 6pm where we promptly had some dinner, grabbed some snacks and gas and now... here we are!

We've got a 6:30am wake-up call tomorrow. Take a look at some of our pictures from the road and stop by tomorrow for a day 2 update!!

You can check out all pictures from the day here!
